July 6, 2020My name is Nic and I am proud to be a new member of the Green Teen Team.
I have been interested in the environment and climate change from a young age, and I was lucky to have an excellent education, both in and outside the school, to influence my approach to these issues. My education taught me what problems the environment faces today, and how to act on a personal level to effect change. Education is the linchpin of the climate movement: if we can bring our generation to understand the causes and effects of climate change, we will all be more equipped to prevent a climate catastrophe.
As a part of my commitment to educating myself and others on environmentalism, I am working with Green Teen Team to create graphics in continuation of their already greatly educational Instagram. I decided to volunteer with them because I believe a beautifully designed and credibly sourced graphic can make the difference between education and lack thereof.
Green Teen Team and organizations like it are the future of climate justice because they demonstrate the incredible power of educated people coming together to make the world a better place. I ask of the reader: become educated on the causes and effects of our current predicament, use that education to make change in your own life, and, most importantly, encourage others to do the same.
