Theodora von Liechtenstein

Founder & Director

Theodora founded Green Teen Team in 2014. Having grown up in the Swiss mountains and Italian countryside, she was struck by how few of the children she met at school in the city had a meaningful connection with the natural world around them and she wanted to change that.

That is where the first project Chelonia set the playbook for all the following gtt projects: connecting children to their local biodiversity through hands-on activities and creating a relationship with nature that lasts.

She finished high school at sixteen and went on to read Architecture at the University of Cambridge, driven by the belief that architects can help build the resilient cities of the future. Her undergraduate research explored natural materials in construction, experimenting with algae and other natural fibres as composite construction materials. She is now completing a master’s in Sustainability, Enterprise and the Environment at the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment at the University of Oxford, where her research spans green technologies and the policies that shape our built environment.

At the core of her academic and professional work comes an understanding and gratitude for having been taught, from a young age, to notice and care for the world around her. Through Green Teen Team, she hopes to pass that on: giving young people the chance to connect with nature, so they grow into adults and changemakers who value the safeguarding of our beautiful planet and its creatures.

Martina Bulgarelli

Founding Member & US Ambassador

Martina Bulgarelli graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in Finance and Environmental, Social, and Governance (Wharton) and Political Science (College of Arts and Sciences), with a minor in Computer Science and International Development. She currently works in project finance at Intesa Sanpaolo’s Structured/Project Finance desk in New York, focusing on the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Her area of interest centers on renewable energy and identifying practical ESG solutions that bridge sustainability goals with capital markets. Within Green Teen Team, she brings this focus together with a lifelong love of flowers and plants, and a growing interest in sustainable farming and marine conservation. She is especially passionate about bringing children closer to nature and helping them understand why preserving wildlife matters from an early age. As Presidente della Consulta Trentina, she organized a school cleanup initiative in collaboration with Green Teen Team, engaging students directly in environmental action. Ambassadors and members looking to connect on renewable energy, ESG strategy, sustainable agriculture, marine conservation, or youth environmental education should reach out to her directly.

Martina has been involved with Green Teen Team’s mission since the origins in 2014, participating in International Coastal Cleanup projects and contributing to the AridEden Leave Your Mark Project in Namibia. She combines her finance background with hands-on environmental work, aiming to make climate and conservation efforts more actionable and legible to the people and institutions that can scale them.

Sophie Macarthur Cook

Wildlife & Biodiversity Ambassador (Argentina)

Sophie Cook is an Argentina-based Ambassador for Green Teen Team. She is passionate about inspiring young people to connect with nature, culture and conservation.

Born in El Calafate, Patagonia, she spent most of her childhood growing up in what is now Iberá National Park, where her parents worked with Rewilding Argentina, an organisation established by philanthropists and conservationists Doug and Kristine Tompkins. Attending a small rural school immersed in conservation gave her a lifelong appreciation for biodiversity and the importance of protecting our natural world.

For the last four years of high school, she attended an English boarding school in Buenos Aires, where she gained a strong international education and broadened her perspective by learning alongside students from diverse backgrounds.

Professionally, Sophie has built her career in nature tourism and conservation, working as a nature guide in Iberá National Park and managing an ecolodge dedicated to sustainable tourism. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to conservation while allowing her to share the unique ecosystems of Argentina with visitors from around the world.

As Ambassador for Green Teen Team, she hopes to inspire future generations to protect our planet by working together to preserve its beauty and safeguard the place we all call home.

Laura Albieri

Urban Waste & Behaviour Change Ambassador (Italy)

Laura has been part of the Green Teen Team from a very young age. It was during a GTT-organised trip with Tethys Research, following dolphin and whale migratory movements in the Ligurian Sea, observing their feeding habits and tracking them via ultrasound, that she first developed a deep appreciation for the natural world.

As part of her IB CAS project, she organised a school-wide initiative to clean up her local park, marking her first step into taking a practical role in raising awareness around urban waste, with the goal of inspiring her peers toward a more sustainable way of life. She is also a committed volunteer at London food banks, an experience that has taught her the value of volunteer work and how far small acts of service can go in improving the lives of many.

Laura is currently a second-year undergraduate at the London School of Economics and Political Science, majoring in Psychological and Behavioural Sciences. She is a firm believer that understanding the relationship between people and their environment can offer practical solutions for nudging people toward more sustainable lifestyles. She hopes to apply her interest in behavioural nudging to shape her work within Green Teen Team.

Abby Chase

Circular Economy & Engagement Ambassador (US)

Abby Chase works at the intersection of sustainability, business transformation, and circularity engagement, with a focus on turning ambitious sustainability goals into changes organisations and people adopt.

Currently completing her MSc at the University of Oxford in Sustainability, Enterprise, and the Environment, Abby formerly worked as a senior management consultant on organisational transformation and strategy, including leading the creation, advocacy, and delivery of Nike’s global supply chain standards. She also works as an Executive in Impact & Engagement at Oxford Net Zero, engaging and mobilising businesses, governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders on credible climate action and standards.

Her current research examines how industry collaboration shapes corporate climate action and leadership with the Climate Leadership Research Centre. She also competed on Team Canada’s figure skating team, earning a National Championship title and international gold medal, and believes sports are a critical entry point to understand the impact of climate change on our communities and planet, as well as a motivator for community engagement.

Her particular areas of interest include circularity, sustainable supply chains, and corporate change-making. Leaders interested or looking to connect on these spaces should reach out to her directly. Through her work with the Green Teen Team, Abby aims to make sustainability transformation desirable to organisations across the value chain. She is excited to bring her professional experience, transformation driving, subject matter expertise, and passion to the team and involve a broader audience in the exciting work of sustainability.

Martin Iuvaro von der Heyde

Climate Justice Ambassador (Argentina)

Martin’s working at the intersection of humanitarian delivery, climate policy, and marine conservation.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he is now based in the United Kingdom, completing an MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford, where his dissertation examines humanitarian energy access and system integration in refugee camps worldwide.

Martin also serves as Project Lead for From Seed to Shelter, an NGO supporting new arrivals in Ugandan refugee settlements, where he has led food security and nutrition research grounded in fieldwork interviews with practitioners on the ground. He is also a Policy Associate at the Oxford Marine Protection Project, advising on biodiversity and marine security policy in the Philippines, a Researcher for the Climate Change & (In)Security Project, and contributes to the UK Parliament inquiry on climate-induced migration. He previously represented South America on Oxford Net Zero’s Global Youth Advisory Board, helping shape revisions to the ISO Net Zero Standard.

His hands-on connection to marine conservation comes through volunteer work with the Madagascar Research and Conservation Institute, where he trained in reef surveying, coral restoration and reef regeneration, and worked directly with the local community to build understanding of conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable marine resource use. Martin’s core interests lie in humanitarian systems and response, climate justice and adaptation, biodiversity and marine conservation, and Antarctic environmental governance. Through Green Teen Team, he hopes to bring people closer to the realities of climate displacement and conservation.

Olivia Mason

Conservation Biology Ambassador (UK)

Olivia Mason has been involved with Green Teen Team since the beginning. In 2015 she was volunteering at Poppy’s Creche Hedgehog rescue and rehabilitation centre in stowupland, Suffolk helping to treat and re-release injured and diseased hedgehogs.

As GTT was a sponsor of Poppy’s crèche Olivia was able to become involved in other projects including the purple community fund, protecting African lions and even volunteer at Parco Natura viva in Verona.

Olivia holds two degrees in Biological Sciences Bsc and Conservation Biology MSc from the university of Brighton and university of Sussex. During her degrees she primarily focused on anthropogenic impact on night pollinators, specifically using bats as an indicator species. For her undergraduate dissertation she performed a meta-analysis on the impact of artificial light on differing UK bat species, finding that pipistrelles were more resilient to artificial light from LED’s than myotis species, leading to shorter foraging periods for less tolerant species.

This avenue of research continued at the university of Sussex where she developed methodology for examining the presence of microplastics in bat guano taken from different roosts around the UK. Samples were taken from both urban and rural roosts to see if proximity to humans increased plastic load. Ultimately due to bats having multiple roosts they may visit in each night even in rural roosts several pieces of plastic were found per sample. These plastic fragments were then taken by Olivia to the university of Exeter where using an FTIR spectrometer the type of plastic (polyester, polystyrene, acrylic etc.) could be identified.

Olivia has been fascinated by the natural world for as long as she can remember. That early curiosity, first sparked by hands-on encounters with wildlife while volunteering grew into a lifelong commitment to conservation, taking her from local rescue work through to postgraduate research on the hidden impacts of human activity on some of Britain’s most overlooked creatures. Having seen first-hand how a simple, tangible connection with nature at a young age can shape a person’s whole path, Olivia is passionate about giving today’s young people that same opportunity. Through her work with Green Teen Team, she hopes to inspire the next generation to get outdoors, get curious, and get involved, so that they too grow up valuing and protecting the natural world around them.

Be the voice

GTT ambassadors take conservation beyond our projects and into everyday life — speaking up for nature in their schools, clubs and communities. Ambassadors give talks and assemblies, lead campaigns, represent GTT at events, and inspire other young people to get involved. It’s the same idea GTT was built on: one young voice, used well, can start something remarkable.
